a new chapter

The older I get the louder this BIG VOICE resonates in my head, constantly telling me to slow down, take it all in, hold onto the tiny moments before they slip away forever, be present, make the best of each passing second, hold desperately to what's precious, cherish moments + memories, and to always put the people I love most first.

I've had the opportunity to reset + take it all in this past little bit.  I've grown more in tune with my myself (spiritually + mentally), my babies, & my sweet husband.  I've tried to make it an absolute priority to take it all in.  All of it.  Every second.  I'm learning to absorb the way certain places smell, the way the air makes my skin feel, the adrenaline rush of exploring new places, the feel of my babies breath against my chest as she snuggles in close, the light in my little girl's eyes as she learns + achieves things she didn't know she was capable of, the sound of the birds in the morning, the smell of fall, the laughter + cries from my children, the feel of my husbands fingers running through my hair.  Everything.  It gives me chills every time I stop to think this way.  I have to keep asking myself is this real life?  Did I really just hike up a mountain & feel the burn of my lungs?  My lungs that can breath.  Did I really feel the touch of my child's kisses before bedtime?  I mean REALLY feel it?  Did I really feel the rain on my face?  Like really feel it?  The wind on my face?  Did I feel that?  Can you feel it?  Can you feel the life bursting out of every single moment?  I'm trying as well.  Don't let one single thing hold you back.  Right now, close your eyes for just a second & take it all in.  The sound of your children's voices.  The smell of your location.  The way your husbands hand feels in yours.  His voice.  Take it all in.  Take in every last drop.  Every single last drop.  Because that, that is your precious life.

This new awakening has made me want to add more meaning to all aspects of my life - including my photography.  I want to capture the small + precious moments for you.  The moments that you will treasure for the rest of your life.  You can read more about my lifestyle photography style on the tabs at the top of this post.  Or - read about it here.

In addition to lifestyle photography, I also offer product shoots.   It feeds my artistic side immensely & I LOVE showing  the world a glimpse inside your creative soul.  You can read more about my product shoot style on the tabs at the top of this post. Or - right here.

I'm changing a few things up around here.  I am no longer sharing photo sessions here on my blog.  I will be sharing all of my recent work + future work through my gallery.  You can view my gallery on the tabs at the top of this post.  From those tabs, you will be able to view my prices, find my instagram + contact info, peruse testimonials, read about my style of lifestyle photography + product shoot photography, learn a little more about me - your photographer, and purchase some of my traveling photography prints.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, lastly, everyone has their ultimate dream job. Mine? Traveling photography.  Capturing wonder + dreamlands, freezing moments of cultural interactions, finding the untold beauty, discovering new ways of life & then capturing that for the world to see, finding myself out of breath at the peak of a mountain just to experience + shoot the unyielding beauty, walking through cobble stoned streets,  telling the story of an old building through an artist's point of view.  I want to illustrate through photography raw human emotions, the face of someone experiencing something magical for the first time, a small child running free when they finally reach the ocean, the enchantment of each town, city, farmland, & way of life.  Because every single place on this Earth has millions of untold stories & numerous amounts of refined + unrefined beauty, I want to be the one to experience, capture, & share just a portion of this world's vastness, to be able to tell just one part of a story through my art, & to stop you dead in your tracks because of the extraordinary world that you get to live in.

It occurred to me not so long ago, that I am, in fact, living my dream job.  More in hobby form though + maybe not as often as I would like.  But, I have traveled a good portion of the United States + have lived in many of those places over the summers.  Funny how your dreams are right in the midst of your life if only you stop to realize + find them.  Who knows, one day, maybe my love of traveling photography will turn into something more - like joining + capturing families on vacations, selling more of my prints - I do have some prints up for sale here, getting my work published, or endlessly traveling + photographing the world.  You can never dream too big.  For now though, I am content to pursue my talent + passion in my hobby of traveling photography & to share some of my untold findings with you.  I'll be sharing many of these places on my photography Instagram if you would like to follow along.

I'll leave you with just a small glimpse into what truly makes my heart speed up.

"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks i want to take, all the books i want to read, and all the friends I want to see."
